Join us for this transformational weekend retreat. The mind-training meditation practices contained in the Dzogchen Great Perfection tradition of Tibetan Buddhism will be presented in this very special weekend contemplative retreat. This retreat will be led by former monk, Buddhist teacher and Director of Mindfulness Meditation Centers, Michael Gregory.
Retreat Theme and Prerequisites:
The main instruction, “Liberation Steps,” will be of great interest to Western practitioners, since its instructions are pithy and direct, and experiential rather than scholarly.
The contemplations on core Buddhist principles like impermanence and karma, intended for beginning meditators, unfold as dramatic stories in which the meditator is to vividly imagine himself or herself as the main character who undergoes a sequence of experiences that result in transformative realizations.
They distill the most essential teachings of the Buddha into a practical system that can be easily implemented in a daily meditation practice. At the same time, they bring together the most foundational Buddhist teachings with the profound methods of Buddhist tantra. This is the hallmark of Dzogchen mind training and what sets it apart from other lineages.
All are welcome. Participants are asked to dress in comfortable, loose-fitting (e.g. yoga) clothing and have a mirror available (full-length preferable).
Retreat Schedule
This Weekend retreat was interspersed with fundamental meditation practices and much time was reserved for focused and illuminating questions and answers sessions.
The retreat was offered online through zoom from April 3rd - 5th, 2020.

About Lama Michael
Lama Michael Gregory started this community over 25 years ago, as a former Buddhist Monk and Western Buddhist Teacher. He has shared that he can never fully repay the debt of kindness shown to him by several revered figures in Buddhism, including the XIV Dalai Lama, the XVII Karmapa--Orgyen Trinley Dorje, Gyaltsab Rinpoche, Bokar Rinpoche, Thrangu Rinpoche, HH Dodrupchen Rinpoche and Penor Rinpoche. These teachers have offered the empowerment cycles of Rinchen Terzo and Dam Ngak Dzod.
